The 28th North Gloucester Regiment of Foot
are a small friendly group of enthusiasts dedicated to re-creating
the lives of British Napoleonic soldiers, their wives and children
and the various civilians that followed them around the world during
this turbulent period of history. There is no age limit and if you
feel that portraying a soldier on active service is not for you
there are other roles
either military or civilian that can be portrayed.
We are based largely in the West Country
but we welcome interest from anywhere in the UK. As a trained
soldier you can expect to wear the famous red jacket and be taught
how to use the equipment of the period including the legendary Brown
Bess musket. Full training and help to obtain the correct uniform
and equipment will be given.
During the Summer we attend living history
events, battle re-enactments and other events such as balls and
dances mostly at weekends and at various locations throughout the UK
and Europe.
