The principal purpose of this unit is to
provide an appropriate group for the older re-enactors who no longer
wish to take the battlefield nor give up the hobby. However members
are encouraged to retain their Regimental affiliations.
The group may accept Pensioners from any of the Pension houses of
the Nations involved in the Napoleonic Wars 1792 to 1815 (including
the War of 1812 to 1814 in North America ).
Membership is open to Other Ranks, over 55 with at least five years
re-enacting experience and who come to the unit with the
recommendation of their unit commander for service with good
conduct.
The group is researching the role of pensioners in the armies and
19th century society. Information regarding pensioner uniforms is
urgently required and details such as pictures will be appreciated.
