We are based on 1807-1812 period, portraying Engineers and Royal
Military Artificers attached to the peninsular army under the
command of Lt Col Fletcher RE.
The Corps of Engineers was created by the Board of Ordnance to
provide technical support for its artillery and developed to advise
on fortifications, sieges, construction and demolition of roads and
bridges. They also undertook field recognisance and were attached to
the Corps of Royal Military Surveyors & Draftsmen (RMSD).
We were formed in 1999 and put on living history displays of work of
RMSD. We also work closely with the Artillery and our counterpart in
the French Genie to provide battlefield pyrotechnic effects. If you
are interested in becoming a re-enactor, not sure which unit/army
you wish to join and don't mind getting your hands dirty, you may
apply to join us until you make your mind up which Army/unit you
want to join in the NA! At re-enactments we were undress working
overalls which makes us the cheapest unit in the NA to join, and we
may be able to provide kit to get you to your first event.
