Joining the NA is
easy...
STEP 1
Download a membership application form from
HERE New membership applications
cannot be made in person at NA re-enactment events so please contact the
Membership Secretary in advance to check that how you can attend an event.
To receive a form by post, contact:
membership@napoleonicassociation.org

STEP 2
Complete the form and send it with the appropriate subscription payment
for your membership category to the Membership Secretary at the address on
the form.

STEP 3
Receive your membership card and welcome pack, including details of all
NA events and access to the members' pages of the NA website. Receive
regular copies of the NA's regular newsletter 'The Adjutant' to keep up with
forthcoming events and other news.

STEP 4
Go to the events with your chosen regiment and meet new people and have
fun!

But first you need to do the following
We need to know what you would like to do within the Association. Are you
joining in order to be involved in research, are you a trader who would like
to join our chamber of commerce or are you, like the majority of our
members, joining an individual regiment of soldiers in either the French Or
British Army.
If
you are joining as a soldier or camp follower you will need to have
contacted your regiment of choice and made joining arrangements with them
first.
If you’re not sure which section to join, please contact the Membership
Secretary.
Researchers / Wargamers
If you put research or wargaming as your first interest you will
automatically be classified in one of these sections. Your details will be
passed to the section coordinator who will keep you up to date with events
in these sections (often before they reach “The Adjutant”).
Re-enactors
If you have not already done so, finding an affiliated unit of the
Napoleonic Association could not be easier. Details of, and contacts for,
all affiliated units are on this site (British and French). Unit membership
rules vary, and you will need to contact the unit direct to arrange this.
Once you have decided on a unit, enter the name of your unit on your
application form.
For insurance purposes, all members taking part in re-enactment events must
be accredited as safe for the role they undertake during the event (i.e.
fusilier, camp follower, etc.) This accreditation must be signed by the
commanding officer of the members’ unit. You will also be required to sign
to conform to the NAs Safety policy that helps keeps all our members safe.

NOTE: ONLY MEMBERS OF THE NA MAY TAKE PART IN RE-ENACTMENTS OR CAMP ON NA
CAMPSITES.

The membership year runs from April to March.
If a new member joins part way through a membership year, the full annual
subscription is payable up until October 31st. After this a pro-rata rate
will be charged.
Existing members pay the full membership fee, no matter when they renew.
Payment can be made in Sterling or direct to our bank account (please
contact Membership Secretary for details).
If neither of these options are possible, please add the equivalent of £10
to your payment to cover bank charges.

Current membership fees are:
Family

in the same house or an adult and their ‘Primary’ Carer.

you are a young person under the age of 18 and you wish to join without a
parent this is possible but please contact the membership secretary.

Introductory Membership:
For re-enactors who wish to 'try before they buy', Introductory membership
is available for one event only. Must sign Health and Safety and will be
assigned to a regiment of interest.
The fee is £10 and can be arranged in advance of an event by contacting the
Membership Secretary, or at the event. Introductory Membership is only
available once, the offer is not repeatable.
This kind of membership only covers an individual for third-party
liability for an event and does not entitle an Introductory Member to
any other benefits of membership beyond attending a single event.
If full membership is taken up in the same year as introductory
membership, the introductory fee of
£10
is deductible from the annual
fee. Renewal after this time would be at the full membership rate.
